Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night-shift Emergency Department position in a Level 4 trauma setting requiring a current UT or compact RN license and strong clinical skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Emergency Department within a hospital setting
• Level 4 trauma center serving rural and diverse patient populations from neonates to geriatrics
• Low nurse-to-patient ratios and high autonomy
• Shift schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts, mostly nights
• No low census call-offs
• Responsible for triage and primary emergency patient care across all ages
• Must adhere to infection control and patient safety protocols
• Work with a collaborative and supportive clinical team
• Holiday coverage is required for recognized holidays
• Blue scrubs are preferred for this role
• Pre-employment drug screening and background check required

Requirements

• Active and unencumbered UT or compact RN license
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Minimum two years of nursing experience in med/surg and/or emergency department settings
• Current BLS certification required
• ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required or must be willing to obtain
• Ability to start EKGs, IVs, draw labs, administer and mix medications
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently and in a small team
• Physically able to lift and move up to 50 lbs unassisted
• Demonstrated customer service and effective communication abilities
