About
An adventure lover's paradise, Moab is a remote and isolated community, but it's central to both Arches and Canyonlands national parks, providing an ideal base. Surrounded by some of the world's most magnificent red rock landscapes and the refreshingly cool Colorado River waters at its edge, its natural beauty engulfs you. This area boasts the only section of the river accessible by paved highways in the state, bringing many to enjoy a thrilling rafting trip or peaceful float with an awe-inspiring backdrop of soaring sandstone spires. In town, the Moab Museum of Film and Western Heritage at Red Cliffs Lodge offers the chance to learn about movies filmed here. Visit before heading out to experience some of the scenes featured on the Big Screen in real life. After a day of hitting the trails or taking advantage of the river, you'll find an excellent collection of shops, galleries, microbreweries and restaurants downtown.
