Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Labor and Delivery position in a Level II unit requiring a GA or compact license and at least two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level II Labor and Delivery unit caring for prenatal, antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients
• Patient population includes those greater than 12 weeks gestation through post-term, including normal pregnancies, high-risk cases, and postpartum care
• Handle scheduled and stat C-sections, inductions, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, preterm labor, VBAC, amnioinfusions, and use of Pitocin and magnesium sulfate
• Perform procedures such as amnioswab, FSE placement, and D&C
• Night shifts are 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15
• Required to work every other weekend
• No call required
• Floating within facility scope of practice and may float to a nearby affiliated hospital as needed
• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Responsibilities include monitoring and caring for laboring patients, circulating scheduled and stat C-sections, and managing complicated obstetrical cases
• Holiday coverage required according to assignment period: coverage expectations increase with the number of holidays during assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed, and RTO is not permitted during the first week of assignment
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• Travel pairs will not be assigned to the same shift or unit
• Full compliance required prior to starting; non-compliance may delay start date by two weeks due to orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active GA RN license or current compact RN license
• At least two years of recent Labor and Delivery RN experience required
• Unit accepts first time travelers
• Must provide two supervisory references from manager level or above
• Must have been separated from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
