Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department assignment requiring MI licensure and Level I trauma experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Emergency Department with primary assignment in behavioral health
  • Level 1 Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric ED environment
  • High patient ratios expected, typically 1:5-6 and could increase depending on patient volume or holidays
  • Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
  • Weekend work required, with three weekends (Fri-Sun) per four-week schedule
  • Floating required within department, including possible pediatric assignments
  • Uses Epic EMR, previous Epic experience required
  • Responsibilities include working primarily with behavioral health patients in the ER
  • Must be able and willing to handle high patient volume and fast-paced environment
  • Pre-assignment modules must be completed prior to start
  • Up to 5 days of requested time off allowed and must be submitted at time of application
  • Blocked time off from 3/27 to 4/12 will not be approved
  • Holiday coverage may be required and assignment may include increased ratios on holidays
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Returning staff must have a 12-month gap since last employment

Requirements

  • Active MI RN license required by start date
  • Current certifications in ACLS, BCLS (AHA), PALS, NIH, and TNCC required
  • ENPC certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience required
  • Level I trauma experience required
  • Previous experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Proof of high school education required for consideration
