Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Physical Therapist with Alaska PT license and home health experience for a community-based role in Ketchikan.

Responsibilities

  • Home health position based in patients’ homes with occasional office work on campus
  • Day shifts, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with some schedule flexibility
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week or five 8-hour shifts available
  • No on-call or weekend shifts required
  • May float to hospice within scope as needed
  • Average daily census of 26 patients
  • Frequent diagnoses include COPD, CHF, orthopedic conditions (including joint replacements), and neurological diseases
  • Reliable vehicle required for community travel
  • EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
  • Responsible for evaluating assigned patients, developing treatment plans, and participating in patient care
  • May supervise or mentor therapy assistants, aides, and students
  • Collaborates with an interdisciplinary care team to achieve patient outcomes
  • Participates in quality improvement, professional development, and educational activities
  • Open to first-time travelers with OASIS experience
  • Position does not accept local candidates

Requirements

  • Valid Alaska PT license or eligibility (Compact PT allowed); license required if applicable
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent home health or OASIS experience
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution
  • Experience with Epic preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to independently manage multiple patients and priorities
