Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU position with a focus on critical care and certification requirements.

Responsibilities

Work in a 14-bed ICU within a hospital setting supporting cardiac, neuro, and medical-surgical patients
Care for patients in a stroke unit, level 2 trauma environment, and open heart program
Patient ratio is typically 1:2
Specialized procedures include EMCO stabilization, STEMI management, manual proning, sepsis protocols, IABP and CRRT usage
Uses Cerner for charting; Cerner experience required
Night shifts: 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30
Weekend coverage required every other weekend
No on-call duties
Floating within scope to meet facility needs and to nearby affiliate hospitals
Responsibilities include caring for critically ill cardiac, neuro, trauma, and med surg patients with advanced equipment
Support from UST and RRT teams available on the unit
RTO (requested time off) of up to 5 days can be auto-approved
Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays during the assignment
Red tops with black bottoms are required for scrubs
Free on-site parking is provided

Requirements

Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of application
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; CCRN preferred
Degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Cerner charting experience required
First-time travelers are welcome
Current AHA or RQI certifications must be valid upon consideration
Not accepting local candidates for ICU positions
Former perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month break before applying as a traveler
