Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact license, with BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
• Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6
• Epic EMR is used for charting
• Night shift position with a 4x12 hour schedule
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope and between like units may be required
• No on-call requirements
• Locals within 50 miles are not eligible
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Return staff must have a one-year gap before applying as a traveler
• A maximum of two consecutive contracts is permitted, after which a six-month break is required
• RTO requests are subject to manager discretion
• Royal blue and white scrubs are required
• Holiday coverage may be expected based on the unit’s needs

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Prior short-term acute care hospital experience preferred
• Pending license applications are not accepted
