Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in a conglomerate medical, surgical, and cardiovascular intensive care environment, requiring a TX or compact RN license and strong critical care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a combined ICU with medical, surgical, and cardiovascular patient populations
• Patient cases include TAVR, CABG, CVA, respiratory distress, sepsis, DKA, CRRT, IABP, Impella, TTM, STEMI, CHF, pneumonia, and more
• Care for patients with advanced cardiac and respiratory support needs including vent management, HFNC, and thoracotomy
• Night shift position from 18:45 to 07:15
• Floating required within the critical care service line, including ICU and step down
• Responsible for providing critical care to a wide range of high-acuity patients with cardiac, surgical, medical, and neurological needs
• Must be able to float between ICU and step down as needed
• No COVID vaccination requirement
• Local candidates accepted but will be offered at a reduced local rate according to facility radius rule
• All positions are auto offer
• Holiday coverage and time off requests must comply with assignment and facility guidelines

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of three years recent ICU experience required
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required and must be current according to group update requirements
• Nursys license verification and current license documentation required within 30 days prior to assignment
• Two professional references and a copy of driver’s license required for consideration
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address
