Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Progressive Care Unit position in Ohio, requiring a compact or OH RN license and recent cardiac step-down experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with primary focus on cardiac step-down patients
• Cares for patients including heart cath recovery, cardiac drips, post-op open heart cases, and other cardiac or med-surg step-down conditions
• Night shift position (7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.), 36 hours per week
• Typically scheduled for every 3rd weekend and one holiday as determined by census and staffing needs
• No regular on-call required, but rare call days may be requested during census fluctuations
• Required to float to other units during low volume or crisis coverage situations
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Must be able to care for both post-op open heart and cardiac step-down patient populations
• May be required to float to other units if necessary for coverage
• Scrub or dress code requirements not specified
• Holiday and weekend schedule subject to unit needs

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license
• Minimum 3 years of recent cardiac step-down experience required
• Experience with open heart patients, ventilators, and cardiac drips required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with Epic EMR required
