Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with an active IL license for a Skilled Nursing and Rehab position in a long-term care facility, with strong Med/Surg skills and IV certification required.

Responsibilities

• Work in skilled nursing and rehab units within a long-term care facility
• Patient population includes both dementia and post-surgical rehab residents
• Direct patient care for up to 20 residents per nurse; average daily census is 72
• Day shift, three 12-hour shifts per week, 6:30 to 19:00
• Every other weekend rotation is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses PowerChart EMR system
• Provide specialized medical and rehabilitation care to both dementia and surgical patients, including administration of IV medications and wound care
• Work closely with a team of CNAs and healthcare assistants
• Lifting equipment is available for patient handling
• Strong customer service skills are essential
• First-time travelers are accepted
• RTO must be submitted at the time of application and cannot exceed 7 days per 13-week contract; RTO not permitted during the first week of orientation
• Holiday time off may be limited
• Scrubs in any shade of blue are required
• Free onsite parking is available

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in hand is required for consideration
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience in a skilled nursing, SNF, or Med/Surg setting
• BLS, ACLS, and IV certification required prior to start
• Dementia care and acute care experience strongly preferred
• Proof of certifications, recent state license verification, and background check required
• Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius from the facility
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
