Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist with at least 18 months of recent experience in cardiac catheterization and a second modality such as Interventional Radiology, Vascular, or Neuro for a dynamic acute care environment.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital radiology/cardiology department
• Assignment is within the Cath Lab Tech unit
• Adult patient population with a focus on cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
• Must be able to float within scope to all affiliated hospitals within 20 miles
• Shift is 4x10 hour days from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call requirements are present and will be discussed based on unit needs
• Weekend coverage to be discussed with manager
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Scrub color is ceil blue
• Responsibilities include scrubbing for cath lab procedures and supporting interventional radiology, vascular, or neuro cases
• Time-sensitive onboarding modules must be a priority upon confirmation
• First-time travelers are welcome for this assignment
• All requested time off must be declared at the time of application; late requests generally not approved
• Returning travelers must have a minimum 6 month gap after 18 consecutive months before reapplying
• Ceil blue scrubs required
• Parking is free in any unrestricted space
• All staff must adhere to a strict no smoking policy

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months recent experience in cardiac cath lab and at least one of the following: Interventional Radiology, Vascular, or Neuro
• Two years of experience in the specialty is preferred
• Certified or Registered Cardiovascular Tech (RCVT) or RCIS preferred
• Current AHA or American Red Cross ACLS and BLS required
• Must be nicotine-free and able to pass a negative 10 panel + nicotine (cotinine) drug screen within 12 months of start
• EKG and Pharmacology testing required during orientation; only two attempts allowed for each test
• Must be able to float within scope to multiple hospital locations
• License required if applicable
