Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Ultrasound Technologist experienced in a Level 1 Trauma setting with proficiency in EPIC charting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based ultrasound department within a Level 1 Trauma environment
• Handle a diverse patient population, including all ages with various diagnostic needs
• Responsibilities include abdominal, vascular, OB/GYN, breast, fetal echocardiography, neurosonology, and pediatric sonography as applicable
• Schedule is Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM with backup on-call rotation one night per week
• Utilize ultrasound equipment and required to be familiar with catheters, biopsy instruments, and sterile trays
• EPIC EMR system experience required
• Responsible for independently performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and ensuring high-quality images for radiologists
• Set up sterile trays and assist radiologists with biopsies and invasive procedures
• Order labs and pathology tests under direction, maintain confidentiality, and accurately document patient information
• Guide and train fellow technologists and students as needed
• Dress code includes appropriate scrubs per department standards
• No local candidates accepted; must live at least 50 miles from the facility
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract
• Candidates cannot have been on assignment at the facility for more than 1 continuous year; if so, a 6-month break is required before returning

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Sonography or Radiology, or completion of a Radiologic Technology program
• BLS certification required
• Active RDMS credential in at least one of the following: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast, Fetal Echocardiography, Neurosonology, or Pediatric Sonography (ARDMS)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant ultrasound experience, including Level 1 Trauma experience
• Proficiency with EPIC charting required
• License required if applicable
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and multicultural sensitivity skills
