Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a day shift position in a cardiac cath and special procedures lab requiring extensive IR experience and current ARRT certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based cardiac cath and special procedures lab
• Primary focus on interventional radiology procedures, including assisting staff to build IR competence
• Patient population includes adult cardiac and interventional radiology cases
• 4x10 hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Call required every third weekend (Friday evening to Monday morning) and 2 weekdays per month (evenings to early morning)
• Use of EPIC EMR for charting is required
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Key duties include administering contrast material per protocol, anticipating needs for invasive procedures, and functioning as scrub and preceptor during IR procedures
• Assist with maintaining a sterile field, assisting physicians, and inventory management
• Support radiology staff in developing skills for IR, ultrasound, and CT modalities
• Responsibilities include explaining procedures to patients and ensuring their comfort, safety, and confidentiality
• Accurate and complete documentation is required for all procedures
• Work within a team environment supporting a growing IR program
• Level 1 trauma environment requiring adaptability and effective communication skills
• Returning travelers are required to take a 6-month break if assigned at the facility for one year
• Time off (RTO) must not exceed 7 days during a 13-week contract
• No travel partners accepted on this assignment
• Scrub requirements will follow hospital policy

Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology required
• Minimum of 1 year relevant interventional radiology experience
• Must have extensive IR experience, including functioning as a preceptor for IR techs
• Current IEMA Radiography License (Illinois), ARRT(R), BLS, and ACLS required
• Manual dexterity to handle small supplies and ability to perform physical duties associated with the role
• Experience with EPIC EMR charting required
• Must assess patients for allergies and operate complex imaging equipment
• License required if applicable
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; locals not accepted
