Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position in Iowa with a compact or IA license and prior travel experience required.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital setting
- Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with 12-hour shifts
- Required to work every third weekend
- Travel nurses may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses
- Uses Cerner and Epic EMR systems
- Participate as a key member of an interdisciplinary team caring for critically ill patients
- Hospital requires working 2 of 3 major winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, Thanksgiving)
- Limited to 1 day time-off request during specified holiday periods
- Orientation includes 16 hours of onboarding
- Returning employees cannot have worked at the facility in the last 12 months
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
Requirements
- Active IA or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (AHA required)
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU RN experience required
- At least 1 completed travel contract prior to consideration
- Candidate must have a taxable address located more than 50 miles from the facility
- Valid driver’s license required
