Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring at least 2 years of perioperative nursing experience and an active LA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in a hospital Operating Room setting
• Patient population includes ortho, cardiothoracic, ENT, GYN, plastics, vascular, ophthalmology, general surgery, trauma, urology, neurosurgery, and robotic surgery cases
• Night shifts available, working either 3x12 hours (19:00–07:30) or 4x12 hours (19:00–07:00)
• Weekend shifts and call shifts required, with 3–4 call shifts per 4-week schedule
• Holiday shifts may be required as needed
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a wide variety of surgical procedures
• Hospital provides scrubs for all OR staff
• RTO during Mardi Gras (2/13–2/22) is discouraged due to facility needs
• Holiday coverage expectations apply as scheduled

Requirements

• Active LA or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years Operating Room experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Trauma Level II OR experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius from the facility
• Former permanent employees of this health system must be separated for at least 1 year before being considered
