Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with Level I trauma experience and a valid IN or compact license for weekend and rotating weekday shifts.
Responsibilities
- Position based in an Operating Room within a short-term acute care hospital
- Core specialties include general, plastic, GYN, ENT, trauma, neuro, ortho, GU, and colorectal robotics
- Patient census averages 70-80 per day with 21 operating rooms
- Schedule is every Saturday and Sunday plus one rotating weekday, 3x12-hour day shifts (7:00-19:00)
- Requires 6 on-call shifts every 6 weeks
- Floating within scope is required, including to affiliate hospitals if needed
- Cerner EMR is used and experience is required
- Scrub attire is provided
- Duties include circulating and assisting in a variety of core OR surgical specialties
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates may be floated to various OR specialties except for CV and transplant
- Free parking is available on-site
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- A rate adjustment applies for travelers residing within Indiana
- Auto-approval for up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) or less
- Must provide application, skills checklist, and two references for consideration
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license in hand at time of application
- Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI accepted
- Minimum of 3 years of recent Operating Room nursing experience required
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma OR experience is required
- Must be able to circulate cases; scrub experience is preferred
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program required
- Perm or PRN employees must have a minimum of 12 months separation before applying as a traveler
- Must be able to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays
- Pending licenses are not accepted
