Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and active IN or compact RN licensure, with tele and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital within the Medical Surgical unit
• Patient ratio typically 1:5
• Night shifts, 3x12 hours per week from 18:00 to 06:30
• Minimum of 3 weekend shifts required within a 6-week period
• Possibility of being placed on call and required to float to other units as needed
• Patient population includes both adult and pediatric medical surgical cases
• Uses Meditech EMR system
• RNs who call in for a shift will be required to make up the shift at a later date
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Professional appearance required; any scrub color permitted
• Local candidates accepted if residing within a 50-mile radius
• May care for both adult and pediatric patients on the unit

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg experience required; ambulatory or MS experience preferred
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS (must have prior to start), and NIHSS
• Telemetry experience required
• Returning staff must not have been employed at this facility within the past 12 months
