Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift position on an Acute Rehab Unit, requiring an IN or compact RN license and AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Work in a 24-bed Acute Rehab Unit within a hospital setting
Provides patient care for post-acute rehabilitation patients
Patient ratio is 1:6-8
Night shift hours are 18:45 to 07:15
13-week contract assignment
Will provide nursing care to patients recovering from acute illness or surgery
Team-based care in a specialized rehab environment
COVID vaccination is not required
Only one position submission allowed system-wide for this employer
Local candidates are accepted but subject to a reduced rate based on the facility's radius rule
Dress code or scrub color not specified

Requirements

Active IN or compact state RN license in hand
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Minimum of 1 year recent acute rehab or similar experience
Nursys verification and primary source license verification required within 30 days prior to start
Must possess a valid US Social Security Number and provide a US address

Pros

Low census so not many patients on the floor. Friendly staff.

Cons

Because it was low census I got floated to adult units to sit almost half of my shifts during the contract. They use an absolutely archaic EMR called sunrise. Horrible 10/10 would not recommend.
