Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with 2 years of emergency nursing experience and an active AK RN license for a night shift assignment.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
- Patient ratio is 1:4 in the ER setting
- Patient population is complex with significant social history, including domestic violence cases
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), working 19:00 to 07:00
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating is not required
- Block scheduling availability to be discussed during the interview
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must be able to work a holiday schedule, with expectations to cover up to three major holidays during the contract
- Navy scrubs are required
- Employee parking is free in the designated structure
- Work in a Magnet-recognized hospital environment
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required by start date (compact licenses accepted at submission but AK license needed to begin assignment)
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, PALS, TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience required
- Cultural sensitivity to Alaska Native population is required
- Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius from the facility
- Only one week of requested time off is allowed and must be made up at the end of the contract
