Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with 2 years of emergency nursing experience and an active AK RN license for a night shift assignment.

Responsibilities

Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
Patient ratio is 1:4 in the ER setting
Patient population is complex with significant social history, including domestic violence cases
Uses Cerner for charting
Night shift schedule (3x12 hours), working 19:00 to 07:00
Weekend shifts required every other weekend
No on-call responsibilities
Floating is not required
Block scheduling availability to be discussed during the interview
First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Must be able to work a holiday schedule, with expectations to cover up to three major holidays during the contract
Navy scrubs are required
Employee parking is free in the designated structure
Work in a Magnet-recognized hospital environment

Requirements

Active AK RN license required by start date (compact licenses accepted at submission but AK license needed to begin assignment)
Current certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, PALS, TNCC
Minimum 2 years of recent ER nursing experience required
Cultural sensitivity to Alaska Native population is required
Candidates must reside outside a 100-mile radius from the facility
Only one week of requested time off is allowed and must be made up at the end of the contract
