Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN with at least one year of experience and an active or pending Michigan RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position based on a Medical, Surgical, and Oncology unit within a hospital
• 37-bed unit caring for patients with general medical and surgical diagnoses, including GI, urology, gynecological surgeries, ortho/neurovascular, and cardiopulmonary cases
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6 for nights, with potential to flex to 8 patients when paired with an LPN
• Float to other Med/Surg units may be required, typically once per week
• Work schedule consists of day shifts (4x12 hours), 7:00 to 19:30
• Required to work every other weekend
• Must be available for the entire first 8 days of the assignment
• Will work alongside a diverse staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or approved
• Local compensation rates apply for those residing within 50 miles
• Specializes in caring for patients with gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological, orthopedic/neurovascular, and cardiopulmonary conditions

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license or pending license with ETA
• Current BLS (AHA) certification or willingness to obtain if pending
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience required, 2 years preferred
• Experience working collaboratively with a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
