Job Description

American Traveler seeks an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele overflow unit, requiring a NY RN license and strong IV and telemetry skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 14-bed Med/Surg Tele overflow unit accommodating ED boarder patients
• Unit is a flex space within GI Endoscopy, with patient numbers varying by demand
• Day shifts are available with a 3x12 hour schedule from 7:00 to 19:00
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend
• Floating to other units is required
• Epic EMR is used and experience with Epic is preferred
• Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed
• Responsibilities include IV placement, dysrhythmia management, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Must wear navy blue or white scrubs
• Minimal time off requests preferred
• First time travelers are accepted
• Adherence to isolation precautions and use of rapid response/code teams required
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shift cancellations per 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year MS/Tele RN experience
• Competency in IV placement and peripheral line care is required
• Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
• Experience with oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred
• Local candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
