Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NY license, BLS, and dysrhythmia management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 14-bed Med/Surg Tele overflow unit accommodating ED boarder patients
• Flex space within a GI Endoscopy area with patient volume fluctuating based on demand
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00–07:00), with every other weekend required
• Floating to other units is required
• Uses Epic EMR (experience required)
• Block scheduling may be attempted but is not guaranteed
• Must provide safe care to ED boarder patients in a dynamic overflow setting
• Minimal requested time off is expected for this position
• Scrub colors are navy blue or white
• Isolation precautions must be followed as needed
• First time travelers are accepted
• Candidates living within 75 miles are not eligible

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at the time of consideration
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg Tele nursing experience
• Epic charting experience required
• Competency in IV placement, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response/code team participation, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Previous charge RN experience preferred
