Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care Unit position requiring cardiac telemetry skills and prior travel experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in a short-term acute care hospital on an Intermediate Care/Step Down Unit
- Patient ratios are 1:4
- Provide care for step down and IMCU patients with cardiac telemetry monitoring
- Shift is day (3x12 hours), 7:00 to 19:00
- Requires six weekend shifts every six weeks
- Floating between units and facilities within the state is expected
- Epic EMR is used and experience is required
- Level II Trauma Center environment
- RN is responsible for managing care of intermediate level patients requiring close monitoring and cardiac telemetry
- Solid navy blue uniforms or scrubs are required for licensed nursing staff
- Free parking is available in any unrestricted employee or visitor space
- Holiday and minimal RTO coverage is expected; all RTO must be declared at the time of application
- Travelers refusing to float may risk contract termination
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years' IMCU/step down RN experience required
- Cardiac telemetry experience required
- Current BLS certification required
- Two supervisory references covering one year of employment in a similar specialty within the last three years required
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- Past permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and cannot live within 50 miles of the facility
