Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position in an outpatient surgery center requiring a CA RN license and strong ophthalmology background.

Responsibilities

Outpatient surgery center adjacent to a main hospital facility
Work in the PACU setting, specializing in Phase I and II recovery
Patient ratios are 1:2
Primary patient population consists of outpatient surgical cases with a focus on ophthalmology
Day shifts, Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 16:30
No weekend or on-call requirements
Floating may be required between facilities within the state
Charting is completed using Meditech
RNs are responsible for providing PACU care to post-operative patients, with an emphasis on cases involving ophthalmologic procedures
Expected to work in Royal Blue scrubs
Free parking is provided onsite
Minimal to no time off is allowed and all requests must be included at the time of application
First-time travelers are accepted for this position
Candidates living within a 50-mile radius are considered local
All travelers may be required to float to other facilities within the state

Requirements

Active CA RN license required and must be in hand at the time of submission
Minimum of 1 year of recent PACU experience including both Phase I and II recovery
Strong background in ophthalmology is required
Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
No pending licenses accepted
Epic EMR experience required
Must submit references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable PACU or surgical setting
Returning former perm staff must have a 3 month gap and live more than 50 miles from the facility
