Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg assignment requiring current IN or compact state licensure, BCLS and NIHSS certifications, and at least 18 months of recent experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Medical Surgical unit
• Patient caseloads are typically 1:5-6
• Night shift position with 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, including every other weekend
• Required to float to other Med/Surg units and to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Cerner EMR; Cerner charting experience preferred
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse adult Med/Surg patient population
• Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Up to 5 days of requested time off can be auto-approved
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license in hand prior to start date
• Current BCLS and NIHSS certifications (AHA & RQI accepted and must be current)
• Minimum of 18 months to 2 years recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• COVID vaccine required for all travelers; medical and religious exemptions with documentation are accepted
• Indiana residents are not eligible for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted for Med/Surg roles
• Former permanent or PRN employees must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
