Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Night Shift Med/Surg position caring for a range of medical and surgical patients, with required Michigan RN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 37-bed Med/Surg/Oncology unit within a hospital setting
• Care for patients with general medical diagnoses as well as those undergoing GI, urological, and gynecological surgeries
• Additional caseload includes ortho, neurovascular, cardio, and pulmonary cases
• Night shift position (3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30)
• Scheduled for every other weekend shifts
• Will float to other Med/Surg units approximately once per week based on staffing needs
• Typical patient ratio is 1:5-6 on nights, may flex up to 1:8 but will have LPN support
• No block scheduling available at this time
• Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, and techs
• Expected to provide care for a diverse patient population, including surgical and complex medical cases
• Staffing support is provided when patient ratios are higher
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed during the assignment

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license or pending licensure with proof of ETA
• Current BLS from AHA, or willingness to obtain if not already certified
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• 2 years recent Med/Surg experience preferred
• Must be available for the first 8 days of the assignment
