Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Perinatal Float Pool position requiring active CA RN licensure and two years of combined L&D and Postpartum experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital perinatal float pool rotating among Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and LDRP units
• Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
• Must be available to work one additional overtime shift every two weeks as needed by the unit
• No blocked or self-scheduling options
• Use of Cerner EMR is required
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Must provide perinatal nursing care across different units as assigned
• Position requires flexibility and competency in both L&D and Postpartum settings
• All time-off or scheduling requests must be confirmed prior to assignment
• Submission of a full 7-year work history with all gaps explained is required
• Attire and orientation requirements will be provided upon hire

Requirements

• Active and valid CA RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum two years of combined Labor & Delivery and Postpartum experience with demonstrated competency in both areas
• At least one year of acute care experience is required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Must pass an EKG exam (up to three attempts allowed)
• At least one supervisory, director, or manager reference from the past year in the relevant specialty is required for consideration
• No RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Return staff must be gone at least one year before eligibility as a traveler
