Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma Emergency Department position requiring PA or compact RN licensure and ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Position is in a 74-bed Emergency Department at a Level I Trauma Center
  • Patient populations include trauma, stroke, cardiac, and behavioral health cases
  • Includes care in the Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU), a 22-bed ED expansion with telemetry and negative pressure rooms
  • Floating between ED and ETCU as needed is required
  • Shift is 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM, with every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
  • No call requirements and blocked scheduling is not permitted
  • Clinical fit will be assessed by internal review and manager interview
  • Responsibilities include providing emergency care as well as support for inpatient holds in ETCU
  • Opportunity for med/surg nurses to be cross-trained for ED-specific tasks
  • May care for patients with COVID-19
  • Facility is tobacco and fragrance free
  • Maximum of 7 days for requested time off will be considered

Requirements

  • Active PA or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience in a Level I Trauma Center
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
