Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring BLS, ACLS, NIH certification, and at least 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Telemetry unit with a patient population ranging from adults to geriatrics
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hour shifts, 19:00-07:00)
• Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5 in a unit with 16 rooms
• Common diagnoses include CHF, MI/chest pain (pre/post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre/post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, PE/DVT, and other vascular issues
• The unit uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR systems
• Floating within the facility is required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Required to work every other weekend during the contract
• Care for telemetry patients with complex cardiac and vascular conditions
• Compliance with dress code required; navy blue scrubs must be worn
• Travelers are required to work major holidays based on the assignment period
• No blocked scheduling is allowed
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Perm/PRN staff must wait a full year after leaving before returning as a traveler to this health system
• Returning travelers must have completed a successful assignment outside of the system if unable to return to a previous location
• Travel pairs cannot be scheduled for the same shift on the same unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years recent Telemetry nursing experience
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to provide two supervisory references (manager level or above) for consideration
• Must adhere to a maximum of 7 days of requested time off (RTO), with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
