Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with a Missouri or compact license and trauma experience for a day shift role with significant on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Operating Room setting
• Patient ratios are 1 RN to 2 surgical cases
• Requires floating within scope to different departments, units, and facilities if needed
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM
• On-call required: 9-12 call shifts per 6-week schedule period, including potential weekend assignments
• Block scheduling is not available
• Primary responsibilities include providing perioperative care for surgical patients and responding to trauma cases
• May be required to work weekends when on call
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed
• Pre-employment drug screening required; non-clearable results may result in a 6-month waiting period before reapplication
• Online modules must be completed prior to start and annually thereafter
• Team structure includes collaboration with surgical staff and surgeons
• Travel partners are not permitted for this position

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required; both Kansas and Missouri or compact licenses must be in hand for consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience required, including trauma experience
• Must have at least 1 year of in-specialty experience within the last 12 months with no employment gaps over 90 days
• Two professional references required, one from a supervisor or above and one from a charge RN within the past year
• Pending license accepted for consideration
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
