Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift LTAC ICU position with float requirements and ACLS/BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Work in an LTAC ICU with floating to ICU step down, Brain Health Unit, and long-term vent unit
- HICU is a 40-bed unit specializing in intermediate and critical care, with both telemetry and med/surg patients
- Brain Health Unit (BHU) focuses on medical and neurological diagnoses with an average 20-25 day patient stay
- Burk 2 unit serves patients with chronic respiratory problems requiring ventilator support
- Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Patient population includes complex medical cases such as post-cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, sepsis, stroke, and ventilator-dependent patients
- Equipment includes telemetry, G-tubes, PICC lines, chest tubes, High Flow Nasal Cannula, tracheostomies, and mechanical ventilators
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Staff work with a diverse team to provide acute rehabilitation and complex care
- Must demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills in patient assessment and intervention
- Responsibilities include managing specialty equipment, blood transfusions, and non-titratable drips
- Engage patients in group and one-on-one rehabilitation activities in the Brain Health Unit
- Dress code and specific orientation details will be provided prior to start
Requirements
- Active MD or compact RN license required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant ICU experience
- Ability and willingness to float to ICU step down, BHU, and LTC vent units
- Special training needed for ventilator patient care and response to alarms
- Two references required for consideration
