Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care (IMC) position requiring a MD or compact RN license and strong PCU/Stepdown background.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratios typically 1:4 to 1:6
• Required to float to Telemetry and/or Medical-Surgical units as needed, with these units having a 1:5 to 1:6 ratio
• Every other weekend coverage required based on unit operational needs
• Daily duties include caring for intermediate care patients and floating to similar units as needed
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Return staff must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible
• Modules and training may be required prior to or during orientation
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a different rate
• No RTO allowed in the first two weeks of assignment; no more than 7 days RTO for 13-week contract is highly preferred

Requirements

• Active MD or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 2 years of recent IMC/PCU/Stepdown experience required
• Ability to pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with at least 80% overall and 100% on lethal rhythms
• Previous charge experience strongly preferred
• Two supervisor references required
