Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit night shift assignment requiring an Ohio or compact RN license and strong IV and BCLS skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is located in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30, including weekdays and some weekends
• Float to lower acuity units may be required
• Uses Epic EMR system for all charting
• Primary responsibilities include starting and managing IVs, administering medications safely, monitoring vitals, and educating patients
• Collaboration with the care team is expected for developing and implementing patient plans
• Strict adherence to hospital policies and maintaining patient safety are required
• PCU RNs will provide patient assessments and education regarding treatments and self-care
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• All requested time off must be built into the contract at time of submission

Requirements

• Active Ohio or compact RN license must be in hand
• Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience required
• Current BCLS and IV certification required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and multitasking skills
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
• Former employees eligible if separated for 6 months or more
• Current employees at Ohio State University hospital locations are not eligible
