Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position in Ohio, requiring an active OH or compact RN license and expertise in advanced cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes critically ill cardiac patients with patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
• Responsibilities include advanced cardiac procedures such as IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and PA lines
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Day (7:00am - 7:30pm) and night (7:00pm - 7:30am) 12-hour shifts available, 36 hours/week
• Required to work weekdays, some weekends, and rotating holidays
• Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week period (Saturday/Sunday for day shifts, Friday/Saturday for night shifts)
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to units of equivalent or lower acuity required; travelers will not be rotated more than once every four weeks
• No time off will be approved between 2/15/26 and 2/28/26
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly after contract signing
• Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Former employees must have a 6 month separation before being considered; current employees are ineligible
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Holiday coverage is required
• RTO requests must be submitted with application and included in the contract

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• 2 years of recent Cardiac ICU experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with IV start, telemetry, ventilator support, Swan-Ganz lines, conscious sedation, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and PA lines required
• Completion of a nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Two professional references required, at least one from a manager or formal leader
