Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a current HI license, strong IV skills, and proficiency in trauma and critical event activations.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital and skilled nursing facility
• Variable 8- or 12-hour shifts, with 80 scheduled hours over a two-week period
• Shift assignments determined by the manager upon arrival
• One on-call shift required per roster period
• At least one weekend off per roster
• Floating may be required according to clinical competencies
• Department utilizes Meditech EMR, Life pack Defibrillators, Braun IV pumps, Philips Monitoring Systems, and Motorola Radio Systems
• Must arrive at the facility on Friday prior to Monday start for employee health and HR clearance
• All compliance documents must be completed and uploaded at least one week before start date
• Will only float to units where clinical competencies are met
• Teamwork and ability to multitask efficiently and work independently are essential

Requirements

• Active RN license for the state of Hawaii in hand by assignment start date
• Minimum of 2 years Emergency Department RN experience
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIHSS
• Proficient in IV skills
• Experience with Stroke, STEMI, and Trauma activations
• Knowledge of core measures and National Patient Safety Goals
• Familiarity with AIDET and Press Ganey patient customer service standards
• Preferred (not mandatory): NCI and Procedural Sedation certification
• Must have license available for employee health and HR clearance appointment
