Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a dual Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab role requiring at least two years of ED or ICU experience and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab departments of a Level I Trauma and teaching hospital
• Patient population includes those requiring urgent and emergent interventional procedures, such as Code Stroke, STEMI, trauma cases, and IR Body procedures
• Scheduled for 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• On-call, weekend, and holiday coverage are required
• Every third weekend is generally required, but this may vary
• Float between Interventional Radiology and Cath Lab within scope of practice
• Epic EMR is used; experience is preferred but not required
• Solid color scrubs are acceptable; light blue scrubs are also provided on the unit
• Provide and recover patients for urgent and emergent interventional procedures, including sedation and anesthesia recovery
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced Level I trauma environment
• Must not request time off during orientation week and should keep requests to a minimum
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rates as travelers
• Holiday coverage is expected as part of the scheduling rotation

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent ED or ICU nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in a trauma or teaching hospital is preferred
• COVID vaccination and booster are required with no exceptions
• First-time travelers are accepted if all requirements are met
• Prior UW staff must have a separation period of at least 18 months before returning as a traveler
