Description

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with at least 2 years' surgical experience and an active LA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

  • Work in the Operating Room of a hospital setting
  • Patient population includes robotics, neuro, plastics, and orthopedic surgical cases
  • Shift is 4x10 hour days from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm
  • Weekend shifts are required
  • Rotating on-call shifts include late call until 7 pm Monday through Thursday and Friday night call rotation
  • May float to other surgical specialties
  • Holiday shifts are required
  • Main responsibilities include intraoperative patient care and support during specialized procedures
  • Must be able to adapt to different surgical specialties as needed
  • Strict rules regarding requested time off, with a policy of no more than 5 days allowed
  • Compliance with dress code and work environment standards is expected

Requirements

  • Active LA or compact RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent operating room nursing experience
  • Experience with robotics, neuro, plastics, and orthopedic surgeries required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
  • Prior cardiovascular surgical experience is preferred
  • No first-time travelers will be considered
  • Must reside at least 75 miles from the facility
  • Former permanent employees of the health system must have been separated for at least one year to be eligible
