Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN with an active AK license and strong cultural sensitivity for a night shift position.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Emergency Department of an acute care hospital
- Patient ratio is 1:4
- Handles a complex Alaska Native patient population
- Night shifts (4x12 hours), 7:00 pm to 7:00 am
- Uses Cerner for charting
- Required to work every other weekend
- Position does not require on-call or floating
- Magnet facility with 152 staffed beds
- Must manage patients with complex social and medical backgrounds, including issues such as domestic violence
- Navy scrubs required
- No cost parking available onsite
- Maximum of one week RTO allowed, with makeup time at assignment end
- Holiday work required, to include three out of four major holidays
Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license required prior to start; compact license accepted at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of recent ER RN experience
- Certifications required: ACLS, BCLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Demonstrated cultural sensitivity to the Alaska Native population
- Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers are welcome
