Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring WA or compact RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and proficiency in advanced cardiac interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based Cath Lab within a teaching and Magnet-designated environment
  • Typical patient population includes those undergoing coronary angiograms, complex interventions, and support devices such as Impella, IABP, Tandem Heart, and ECMO
  • Day shifts are 4x10 hours from 7:30 to 18:00
  • Weekend shifts are required based on schedule
  • On-call duties include 4-6 days per month, with at least one weekend call per month and assignments to the late team
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2
  • No floating within or outside the hospital
  • Uses Epic charting system; experience preferred but not required
  • Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
  • Cath Lab RNs will assist with advanced cardiac procedures and support device placements
  • Scrubs of any color may be worn; OR personnel are provided scrubs
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on overall experience
  • A maximum of one week of requested time off is allowed and not permitted during orientation
  • Return to work for previous employees limited by a minimum separation period
  • No radius requirement for travel rate eligibility

Requirements

  • Active WA or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience
  • Experience with coronary interventions, including placement of Swan-Ganz catheters, endomyocardial biopsies, temporary pacing wires, and scrubbing for coronary stenting
  • No pending licenses accepted; must have active licensure at the time of consideration
  • COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
  • Prior staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 months to be considered
