Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position requiring WA or compact RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and proficiency in advanced cardiac interventions.
Responsibilities
- Work in a hospital-based Cath Lab within a teaching and Magnet-designated environment
- Typical patient population includes those undergoing coronary angiograms, complex interventions, and support devices such as Impella, IABP, Tandem Heart, and ECMO
- Day shifts are 4x10 hours from 7:30 to 18:00
- Weekend shifts are required based on schedule
- On-call duties include 4-6 days per month, with at least one weekend call per month and assignments to the late team
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2
- No floating within or outside the hospital
- Uses Epic charting system; experience preferred but not required
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Cath Lab RNs will assist with advanced cardiac procedures and support device placements
- Scrubs of any color may be worn; OR personnel are provided scrubs
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on overall experience
- A maximum of one week of requested time off is allowed and not permitted during orientation
- Return to work for previous employees limited by a minimum separation period
- No radius requirement for travel rate eligibility
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience
- Experience with coronary interventions, including placement of Swan-Ganz catheters, endomyocardial biopsies, temporary pacing wires, and scrubbing for coronary stenting
- No pending licenses accepted; must have active licensure at the time of consideration
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Prior staff must be separated from the facility for at least 18 months to be considered
