Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring an IN or compact license, with critical care certifications and ability to care for diverse high-acuity patients.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a 14-bed ICU within a short-term acute care hospital
• Care for open heart, neurosurgery, general med-surg, stroke, trauma level 2, EMCO, STEMI, manual proning, sepsis, and utilize IABP and CRRT
• Patient ratios are 1:2
• Scheduled for nights, with options for 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts
• Weekend work every other weekend is required
• No on-call required
• Required to float within hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Cerner for charting
• Primary role involves managing critically ill patients with complex needs and advanced therapies
• Holiday coverage is required for at least 2 of the 3 major holidays
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrub color is red top with black bottoms

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license and required certifications (ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS) must be in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years ICU RN experience required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Experience with Cerner EMR required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited university
• Candidates must not have been employed as permanent or PRN within this health system in the past 12 months
• Local candidates are not accepted for this position
