Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Telemetry position in a Magnet and Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a MO or compact RN license and step-down experience.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a telemetry/step-down unit within a short term acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30), with every other weekend required
• Assigned patient ratio is 1:4-5
• Floating within scope is required to meet hospital needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR system is used and prior experience is required
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Duties include providing nursing care and monitoring for patients requiring telemetry and step-down level care
• This Magnet and teaching hospital is a Level I Trauma Center with a large interdisciplinary team
• Orientation includes mandatory completion of modules, paid up to 16 hours
• Night shift staff may park in employee lots at no charge; day/night rotation requires a paid parking pass
• Candidates are expected to bring their license plate number on the first day for parking arrangements
• Travelers may remain for up to 18 months before a 3-month break is required

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent telemetry or step-down experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required
• Experience with EKG and managing cardiac drips is necessary
• Epic charting experience is required
• Must reside outside of a 75-mile radius from the hospital
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract and none during orientation
