Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced BSN-prepared Operating Room RN with an active SD or compact license, BLS certification, and at least 3 years of acute care experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level 1 trauma, acute care hospital Operating Room department
• 35 ORs with assignments to circulate for one OR room per nurse
• Handles various surgical specialties within the OR as needed
• Uses Epic EMR system
• 12-hour day shifts (6:30-19:00), one late shift per week (8:30-21:00)
• 2-4 call team night call shifts and 2-4 day call shifts in a four week schedule
• Potential to work every 5th weekend day shift, with a compensatory day off during the week
• No floating to other units, but flexibility to work in all surgical specialties required
• Orientation includes one day for charting, ESAR privileges, and exposure to related units such as pre-op and PACU
• Expect to be oriented to the unit within a week
• Ceil blue scrubs are provided; no earrings and compliance with surgical dress code is required
• First-time travelers considered
• Travelers with prior employment at any Sanford Health location must have ended employment at least 6 months prior to consideration
• Candidates residing within 80 miles are eligible with a local pay adjustment

Requirements

• Active SD or compact RN license required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum of 3 years recent Operating Room nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Epic EMR experience preferred
