Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg unit position caring for medical and surgical oncology patients, requiring an active ND or compact RN license and Epic EMR experience.
Responsibilities
- Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 47-bed Med/Surg unit
- Patient population includes general medical and surgical oncology cases
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 for day shift and 6:1 for night shift
- Uses Epic EMR, AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry equipment
- 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Floating may occur to any Med/Surg unit across the campus
- Responsibilities include collaborating with an inter-professional team to plan and provide comprehensive patient care
- Unit orientation includes 1 day of lead center training followed by two 12-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor
- Navy blue scrubs are required as dress code
- All employees must badge in and out at the facility
- Candidates who have previously worked for the health system must have a minimum 6-month gap since their last employment
- Local candidates residing between 60 and 80 miles from the facility are eligible but will receive a reduced pay rate
Requirements
- Active ND or compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in Med/Surg nursing
- Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred
- Prior experience in a hospital with at least 200 beds and trauma level 2 or higher required
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Cannot accept candidates living within a 60-mile radius of the facility
