Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Trauma ICU position requiring recent Level 1 ICU trauma and cardiac or neuro experience.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Trauma ICU of a hospital setting
- Level 1 trauma patient population with critically ill cases
- Three 12-hour day shifts per week
- No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
- Responsible for care of a complex trauma ICU patient population
- Duties include administering medications, monitoring patients, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and updating families on care plans
- May delegate tasks to support staff and must maintain strong communication skills
- First-time travelers are not considered for this assignment
- Extension beyond 26 weeks requires a 6-month break before returning
Requirements
- Active RN license in Oklahoma or a multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
- Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
- BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- At least one year of recent Level 1 ICU trauma experience required
- One year of previous travel nursing experience required
- Cardiac experience required, or a combination of cardiac and neuro experience
- TNCC and TCRN certifications preferred
