Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer skilled in both adult and pediatric echos, with ARDMS, BLS, and RDCS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Position based in an acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center
• Work includes both adult and pediatric echocardiography procedures
• Shifts consist of a mix of 8 and 10 hour days, starting between 7:00 and 8:00 AM
• Call rotation includes 1-2 nights per week and every 3rd or 4th weekend
• Holiday coverage is managed through a call rotation
• Floating within scope is required and may include floating to affiliate hospitals
• Uses Cerner for charting; Cerner experience preferred
• Siemens echocardiography equipment experience preferred
• Scrubs are provided
• Responsibilities include performing a variety of complex cardiac ultrasound procedures on both pediatric and adult populations
• Expected to participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment and assist as needed to meet hospital and patient needs
• Must be able to complete all compliance needs before start and fulfill the full contract term
• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment crosses these dates
• No residency radius limitation; local candidates accepted
• Perm or PRN employees must have a 12-month separation before applying as a traveler
• Parking permit is required but provided at no cost

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in echocardiography, including both adult and pediatric patients
• Current ARDMS, BLS, and RDCS certifications required
• Must demonstrate proficiency with adult echo procedures including Bubble Study, contrast imaging, M-Mode, pharmacologic and treadmill stress echos, portable studies, Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE), and right ventricular inflow/outflow tract studies
• Must demonstrate proficiency with pediatric echo procedures including M-Mode, portable studies, and right ventricular inflow/outflow tract studies
• Must be comfortable performing procedures on patients in ICU and ED settings using isolation precautions
• License required if applicable
• Not open to first-time travelers
• Must be in Illinois 3 business days prior to compliance date for fingerprinting requirements
