Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 2B Special Care Nursery position with night shifts and a current MA RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level 2B Special Care Nursery within a hospital setting
• 25-bed unit encompassing L&D, postpartum, newborn, 2 ORs, 2 antepartum rooms, and a recovery room
• Patient population includes mothers, newborns, and laboring patients with an average daily census of 15-25
• Clinician to patient ratio for L&D is 1:2-3 for evaluations and 1:1 for active labor or special infusions, postpartum ratio is 1:3-4
• Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required
• No floating required
• Uses Epic EMR
• Responsible for caring for newborns and mothers in a specialized nursery environment
• Works closely with an interdisciplinary team including L&D and OR staff
• Local candidates must live more than 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to qualify for standard travel rates
• Parking may incur extra costs, with public transportation options available
• Timekeeping managed via UKG/Kronos system
• Must be willing to work every other weekend and night shifts as assigned

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in NICU
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required; AHA preferred
• Special Care Nursery and newborn care skill set required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Must provide primary source license verification
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions allowed
