Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN with recent charge nurse experience for a Telemetry night shift position in an acute care setting requiring a current CA RN license.

Responsibilities

• Work in a telemetry unit within an acute care hospital environment
• Night shifts with 12-hour schedule and every other weekend required
• First to float within the facility as needed
• Patient population includes cardiac and telemetry monitoring needs
• Uses Cerner EMR system; experience required
• Role blends charge nurse, clinical mentor, and on-shift manager responsibilities including rounding, addressing patient concerns, and supporting staff
• Three weeks of orientation are provided, including classroom and unit-based training
• No first time travelers will be considered for this position
• Additional testing or skills modules may be required prior to start, including dysrhythmia and sterile technique assessments
• Professional attire and adherence to hospital dress code required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license is required at the time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
• Minimum of 3 years recent RN experience required
• Must have recent charge nurse experience in last assignment
• Certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS (AHA or APEX)
• Completion of required orientation and unit-specific training
• Submission must include copy of driver's license
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years
• Candidate may not have been employed directly by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
