Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position in New York with Epic EMR proficiency and a strict radius requirement.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Med/Surg Float Pool within a hospital environment
• Involves floating to various Med/Surg units as needed
• Shifts are 12 hours, 07:00 to 19:30
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• Call outs exceeding three within the contract will result in termination; make-up shifts required within six weeks of the last call out
• Daily assignments may change based on hospital staffing needs
• Clinical support and orientation provided as needed
• Requests for time off must be submitted during application
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this contract
• Holiday coverage may be required as per hospital needs
• Travelers are limited to applying to one position at a time

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience required
• Current AHA or RQI-issued BLS certification required
• Epic EMR experience is mandatory
• Competency testing may be required based on experience level, with two allowed attempts
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required
• Must not reside within a 50-mile radius of specific counties (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, Washington)
• Medical exemption only for flu vaccine; personal or religious exemptions not accepted
