Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position in New York requiring a NY RN license and EPIC EMR proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Work in the Med/Surg Float Pool covering multiple hospital departments
- Day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Floats to various med/surg units based on central staffing needs
- Utilizes EPIC EMR; EPIC experience is required
- No blocked scheduling is permitted
- Competency testing required with up to 2 attempts for applicants with less than 2 years of experience
- Candidates residing in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington counties within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
- Make-up shifts must be completed within 6 weeks following call outs; more than 3 call outs in 13 weeks may result in contract termination
- Requested time off must be submitted with the application
- Travel pairs are not allowed
- Candidates may only apply to one position at a time
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required at the time of application
- Minimum 2 years of recent med/surg nursing experience
- Current BLS certification from AHA or RQI
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number required (Canadian SIN not accepted)
- Medical exemption for flu vaccination must be signed by a licensed professional; no personal or religious declinations accepted

Pros
Sebrona was so helpful and quick to respond. She is kind and patient. She was able to get me the job I wanted with excellent pay. After she done her part she continued to check in with me to see how the compliance part was going. I felt comfortable with asking her questions even though it wasn’t the department she worked in. She would reach out to others and get the answer or be sure they contacted me.
