Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool night shift position requiring a current NY RN license and EPIC EMR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital-based Med/Surg Float Pool covering multiple units as assigned
• Night shift schedule from 19:00 to 07:30
• Patients will vary based on unit needs determined by the central staffing office
• No blocked scheduling is permitted
• More than three call outs in a 13-week period will result in contract termination
• Floating to various med/surg units within the facility is required
• EPIC EMR system is used and proficiency is required
• Competency testing required for med/surg nurses with less than two years of recent experience, with two attempts to pass
• Travelers applying must not reside within a 50 mile radius of the facility in the specified counties
• RTO (Requested Time Off) must be submitted with application
• Travel pairs are not permitted for this assignment
• Travelers may only apply to one open position within the facility at a time
• Make-up shifts must be completed within six weeks of a call out
• Only medical flu exemptions are accepted; personal or religious exemptions will not be allowed

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at the time of consideration
• Minimum of two years recent experience in med/surg nursing
• Certifications must be AHA or RQI and current at the time of consideration
• Demonstrated experience using EPIC EMR is required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more in the past 12 months
• Flu vaccination required; only medical exemptions signed by a licensed professional will be accepted
• US Social Security Number required for employment (Canadian SIN not accepted)
