Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN with at least 18 months of PACU or pre/post-op experience and current IN or compact RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the PACU of a short-term acute care surgical center
• Primary assignment in PACU, with potential to assist in pre-op as needed
• Patient population includes pre- and post-surgical patients
• Uses Cerner charting system; Cerner experience required
• Day shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 6:00am – 6:30pm, typically Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday
• Travelers may be required to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals
• Duties include caring for pre- and post-anesthesia patients and supporting surgical team as needed
• Must be willing to work in both PACU and pre-op settings as required
• Expect to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Applicants with previous permanent or PRN employment at this facility must have a 12-month break before returning as a traveler
• RTO up to 5 days can be auto-approved

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration
• 18 months to 2 years of PACU or pre/post-op RN experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or RQI accepted and current)
• Degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited university at time of graduation
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Local candidates are accepted for periop roles
